PSW Diploma Program

The Personal Support Worker Diploma Program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide personal care and home management services to the communities and institutional settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities and private homes etc.

In order to provide safe, effective and sensitive skills in care giving and community work, it is important that students adopt the psychosocial approach to care.  Safe and effective functioning requires the need to understand the legalities of the role of PSW, and the demand for a positive work ethic that is productive and constructive to PSWs.  Sensitivity to the students and their rights is crucial to both the theme of instruction and training of the PSW.
